Blue Ocean Financial Services is a group of advisers looking to build, support and celebrate the success of each other. This comes from being a smaller license that allows us to develop a close relationship with our advisers. We endeavour to look beyond the tangible to the area that is part of making a great license; simple things like being heard; contributing to the direction of the license; communication – for example explaining the WHY behind the what. Time is a valuable commodity, we ensure that we are not wasting yours.

Many of the larger licenses focus on compliance, this is where Blue Ocean Financial Services is different. We take the view that compliance, whilst it has its place, should not dictate how you run your business. It should not be the focus of your time in your business, your focus is your clients. Compliance is here to ensure that you are servicing your clients in accordance to the guidelines laid down by ASIC. We take a commercial view on how compliance is applied, not an auditing view.

Stuart Mangion (Director, Responsible Manager)
Stuart is one of the founders of Blue Ocean Financial Services. He has been a financial adviser for over 14 years, the past 11 years as a Non Aligned Financial Adviser and continues to do so today. Stuart became qualified in SMSF in 2009 and has built a portfolio of SMSF clients. He has been involved in various businesses throughout this time including being director of an accounting firm, financial planning practice and mortgage business. It is this experience and knowledge that Stuart brings to Blue Ocean Financial Services to share with fellow advisers and professionals.
Aside from Blue Ocean Financial Services, Stuart likes to spend time with his family, as well as being involved in Surf Life Saving and is a fanatical Wallabies supporter.
Marissa has been in the financial services industry for 10 years and whilst her roles have varied her main focus has been assisting clients and supporting advisers.
Marissa is able to utilise her experience and knowledge on a day to day basis within Blue Ocean Financial Services and is a driving force for all compliance and regulatory matters within the office. She not only brings with her strong analytical skills but a positive can-do attitude as well.
Satendra Varma (Responsible Manager)
Satendra has been operating his own practice as a Principal Financial Planner since 2002. He completed a Diploma in Financial Advising via Securities Institute of Australia (now FINSIA) in 2002. With his wealth of experience and knowledge, he has been guiding his clients through their financial journey with ease. Satendra is an Aged Care Professional and has been able to help clients with Aged Care Advice throughout Australia. This specialist training allows him to create a financial strategy for those moving into aged care facilities.
Satendra is skilled in Retirement Planning Strategies that has allowed him to assist clients with a long-term view to achieving their individual financial goals. He has successfully assisted clients with wealth creation strategies including investments outside of superannuation, such as shares, managed funds, bonds, property and cash.
Satendra is in the process of completing a Master of Financial Planning via Kaplan Professional. As a responsible Manager with Blue Ocean Financial Services, he is looking forward to working with other advisers and adding value.
